Wooden Cutting Board Care Instructions

Daily Care

  • Wash by hand with warm water and mild dish soap.

  • Wipe dry immediately with a clean towel.

  • Stand upright or lean to air-dry fully.

Things to Avoid

  • Never put in the dishwasher.

  • Do not soak or leave sitting in water.

  • Avoid placing near direct heat sources (stove, radiator, sunlight).

  • Don’t use harsh chemicals or bleach.

Disinfecting & Deep Cleaning

  • Sprinkle coarse salt or baking soda, scrub with half a lemon.

  • For deeper cleaning, use a diluted vinegar solution (white vinegar + water).

  • Rinse quickly and dry immediately.

Oiling / Conditioning

  • Oil your board every 3–4 weeks, or whenever it looks dry.

  • Use food-grade mineral oil or board cream/wax (never use cooking oils — they go rancid).

  • Apply a generous coat, let absorb, and wipe off excess.

  • For best results, finish with a beeswax conditioner to seal the pores.

Storage

  • Store standing upright or hanging to prevent moisture buildup.

  • Keep in a well-ventilated area — not in a closed or humid cabinet.
